Dirty South Boys

No one ever told me what having sons would do to my heart. I'm head over heals for these rowdy smiley heart melters, I tell you. Now I love my girls to pieces, but there is something special about a momma and her boys.
As if Brubbs wasn't already cute enough they had to go and put glasses on his sweet little face. I could sop him up with a biscuit. And don't even get me started on that little toothy grin my little red caboose throws my way. I just have a soft spot for these little men in training.
Tonight, while searching the house over for Mia's water bottle I had Brubbs check his suitcase because they had been stuffing things in there while they played. After several minutes of getting it opened I hear Brubbs say, "Nope. No water bottle in here. Just my sons and my guns, mom."
Oh the sweet sweet joys of being the mom of boys. May I never stop soaking every moment of their lives up. Now, where in the world is that water bottle anyway...

OH, and some of the reasons my heart is in a puddle. Look at these PERFECT pictures of our boys!
These were taken by my friend, Lindsey at Lindsey Faith Photography.

I am in LOVE with every. single. picture. she. took.

Wrestle Buddies

When Isaiah was born I was immediately blown away with how different he was from the girls. He was a brut from the start. He had his first black eye at 5 months old because he was raring to go and jump off things and wrestle with whoever would give him the time of day. He made gun noises, car noises, and toot noises as a really young toddler. He ate dirt. He touched poop. Honestly, he was just...gross.
After we had him I prayed for him to have a brother. Sure, having sisters is great, but I could really see him longing for another boy. Once we knew we were having our last baby I prayed and prayed that we'd have a boy. I just knew that's what we'd get. The day we found out Eli was a boy I rejoiced for Isaiah, because I knew it would be a really amazing adventure for him.
When Eli was born Isaiah was a little sad to see such a tiny baby. The day after he was born he said, "Oh...He didn't growed up yet. He's still a baby! I wanted to play with him!" Eli had that same boyish spirit. He's so fearless and bold.
It's been so amazing to watch the boys develop into brothers. Isaiah is not ashamed to kiss his brother a hundred times a day. He loves him so much. When Eli was younger Isaiah would take his toys over to where Eli was laying and he'd play beside him. He'd put toys in his hands and make sounds for him. Eli would(and still does)just stare at him with wonder.
Now that Eli is crawling it is SO much fun to watch those two play. Isaiah will be sitting in the floor, and Eli will see him and crawl over and just start pounding on him. They'll just laugh and mini-wrestle around on the floor. Isaiah is still very gentle with Eli, but he's teaching him to be manly. Eli squeals and laughs at his brother. Isaiah can't wait for the day Eli gets to sleep with him in their bunk beds. He has a lot of plans for the two of them.
Such a blessing to have BROTHERS! Yay! I never EVER knew how much having boys would bless MY heart. I know now how Manly felt when the girls were born. My heart swells for those boys. There's just something different about having boys. Oh how I love my BOYS!!
My "I'm not an infant!!" BABY, Eli. Five months old. Crawling, sitting, standing, cruising! Where did his babydom go!?

Eli crawled up to me squealing from Isaiah chasing him. Isaiah said, "Go ahead. Take a picture of us wrestlin'!"

My big fuzzy-head boy saying "hi."

Eli looks a little nervous, but I promise he was having a good time. I think the look is from my camera flash, which is a little bright.

Being a Brother

My sweet Brubbs loves being a brother.
He's such a joy and the sweetest piece of heaven on earth a mother could ever have.

They Say Time Changes Things

But I say they just stay the same. LOVE these pictures. None of which were staged. AND, I could eat tiny Isaiah with a spoon! Mia quite obviously has one of the sweetest smiles ever! Eli is a beautiful baby!

Brothers are Best

Eli has the BEST brother ever! Isaiah LOVES his baby brother SO much. Isaiah is such a wonderful mix of gentle and roudy and Eli LOVES it! I'm so thankful the Lord decided to give Isaiah a brother! I can't wait to watch them grow up together. I recently found this little nursery rhyme in Olivia's language book and thought it was perfect for our boys.

I love you well, my little brother,
And you are fond of me;
Let us be kind to one another,
As brothers ought to be.

You shall learn to play with me.
And learn to use my toys;
And then I think that we shall be
Two happy little boys.

LOVE these sweet brothers!
