Home Brewed Smittle: Week 32. 8 to go.

So, there are only 8 more weeks! 7.5 by today, actually. I don't feel completely ready yet. I think I mentioned that last week. I'm really ready to see Eli, but I don't feel like our home is ready quite yet. I need to buy diapers, a few blankets, and a carseat still.
I have some of Bubby's things that I kept, but other than sleepers I'm thinking that Eli may not have too much to wear for a few months! Bubby was born in January, so his stuff is all very wintry. I think Eli might get a little warm in all the fleece and wool. Oh well, he'll mostly be home with me for the first several weeks anyway. Who needs clothes?
This week I had a good visit with my midwife and apprentice midwife. I was blessed to get all my birth kit supplies taken care of, and I took Bubby with me so that he could hear his baby brother on the heart doppler. He was a little confused on the way there and asked, "Mom, where are we going to get my brother from? Why is he at Ms. Kim's house?" Ha! I had to explain that we weren't ready to get the baby yet and that we'd just be listening to his heart. When we got there and it was time to listen he walked up really close and just stared at my belly. So sweet. He's really ready for his brother. He told me, "When my brother pops out he's going to crawl right to me and be my friend."
Babycenter says that by now the baby likely weighs about 3.75 pounds(about the size of a jicama, whatever that is!) and is about 16.7 inches long. I'm measuring right at where I'm supposed to be, but I've got to tell you this boy feels BIG! He moves all over the place and you can see it from across the room! When people see me they ask, "How much longer do you have?", "Are you going to make it?", "You are NEVER going to make it to March!" Seriously people. What's that supposed to mean?
