Our Story: I'm NOT Talking to the NOOK!

Because we decided to get married over fall break, and because we were two poor college students we only had a few days to do a local honeymoon. We decided to go and stay in a bed and breakfast in Hot Springs. Before we headed out, we stayed our wedding night in a beautiful suite in the Capitol Hotel. It was a wedding gift from Denise(the lady I worked for).
We actually got locked out of the room and had to call guest services from a service phone in the hallway. It was a little embarrassing for them to come help up to help us and find me in a wedding gown sitting in the floor. Ha! The guy said, "I'm not even gonna ask!" Ha! It was a lovely night, and we were so thankful for the memories and the plush white robes and chocolate covered strawberries.
Once we made it to Hot Springs we went to the B&B to see where we would be staying. It was a little run down and pretty old fashioned, but still very nice. The sweet old lady who ran it showed us to our room which was called the nook, and we put our things down and headed out for a riverboat cruise. We spent the rest of our time there visiting the science museum, eating good food, window shopping, and resting.
We went to the bath house for massages and a day at the spa. We both look really tall and skinny in this picture. It's an illusion...

Love this picture. Oh the simple days of being a young married couple.

On the river cruise.

One night we had just gotten back to our room, and I was running a bath in the claw foot tub when all the sudden we heard a LOUD banging sound. We couldn't tell exactly where it was coming from, but it kept on, bang bang bang! Finally, as I made my way back into the bathroom, I could hear voices on the other side of the wall. I said, "Hello." I don't know what I was expecting, but I heard a loud voice yell back, "I'm NOT talking to the NOOK!!" I jumped back and laughed and told Manly, who was laying on the bed reading his Bible about what happened. He got up and listened at the wall until he was able to figure out that the lady who owned the place was banging with a broom on the ceiling at the couple in the next room. Apparently they had tried to use the tub TOGETHER(which it was WAY too small for), and there was water spilling out and leaking through the roof.
The next morning at breakfast we asked the lady about it and she just rolled her eyes and laughed and said something about young lovers being so dumb to get in that tub together and flood her house. Ha!
Manly reading his Bible with the lady pillows and stuffed bunny.
We came home(to the tiny house Manly had been living in before we were married)to a house FULL of wedding gifts as well as silly string and yarn. Ashley and a few helpers had turned our tiny cottage into a MESS! They tied bells to the sheets, saran wrapped the bed, had a yarn maze, and had even left us a little note on the mirror with their best wishes.
Our bathroom mirror.  You can see some of the size of the "cottage."

The flowers we planted at the cottage. We were SO sad to leave them when we moved!

Our little cottage. We really loved that tiny little house.

We went back to school the next morning ready to finish the semester. It was my final year of school, and I was so ready to graduate. The holiday season was coming soon, and there was a BIG gift awaiting us in the new year.
